Sorry, I'm not much up for a full-fledged DAS tonight. Just too tired and not too sure who to spotlight tonight. However, I had an idea for a Shingo Yabuki spotlight, and ran across this guy's page. Good art overall, but check out a series he has going on called "King of Fighters Redux" where he takes the classic characters and gives his own unique twist on their designs. Very Falcoon-eque (boy there's a funny story) He actually has detailed descriptions and what ifs in the description.
Also I thought I'd do something interesting. I found this site here, which lets you make your own post-able Polls, so I thought maybe for next week, I'd choose a list of KoF characters you want me to spotlight next week. The current KoF Redux cast mentioned above mostly consist of some of my top favorite characters, so I thought I'd make the poll around THEM (except for Mai, she's got hundreds of stuff all over the place, it'd be like looking up Tifa or Cloud fanart).

Reboot!
-The official Reboot revival site is up. Nothing much yet except for some concept art and some nice wallpaper.
-Mario RPG is hitting Japanese Virtual console sometime in June. YES!!
-Figured it'd be a good time to mention the fanmade Sonic shorts as Part 3 just hit Newgrounds. Granted, I'm not a HUGE Sonic fan, these hilarious shorts are worth watching, even if some of the jokes went over my head and require insider knowledge. Part 1 is here, and Part 2 is here. Beware the creepy Tails doll!
-New English trailer for FFIV DS with a sneak peek at the English voice acting. I'm guessing Yuri Lowenthal as Cecil and Crispin Freeman as Kain. Having Sasuke (from Naruto) as Cecil is hilarious but strangely fitting at the same time.
-Dan Hibiki and Feilong confirmed for the home versions of SFIV. AWESOME! I've always wanted to play as Dan in full 3D glory! GO SAIKYO!
-New Nico findings by me included an adorable Lupin III parody with Pikachu, and two different caramelldansen videos based off Seiken Densetsu 3.
Not a bad post, it's been a good day!

Forgot A Yahtzee
-Forgot yesterday about the newest Zero Punctuation covering The World Ends With You.
-James Rolfe has a audio-only review of the new Indiana Jones. I have to say it's spot on with what I felt. I thought the CG for the prairie dogs at the begging was a tad excessive and silly, that's probably the only difference I didn't think Rolfe quite covered.
-New character update for the mobile FFIV Sequel. Includes a new Ninja Posse for Edge, and a love interest for Palom. Be sure to check out the Wiki page which features steadfast updates and translations. I also found a nifty page here which features art and sprite rips. And if you want screens and art: Edge Chapter - Polom Chapter - Yang Chapter

Use your ass!
-Rabbids are back! New trailer and demo! I love how they flaunt the whole "You use your ASS to play." What can I say? I'm a sucker for the little guys. Also Beyond Good and Evil 2. Still need to track down and play the first game. Also word is Yoshitaka Amano is helping with art direction.
-Article about Square-Enix's financial state. Not looking too good. Also, states how they recognize the need to start diversifying.

Indiana Holiday
-Sorry for the lack of update yesterday, blame it on the Holiday and I went to see Indiana Jones. Speaking of which, there's a guy here who takes classic movie themes and makes Vocal arrangements. Be sure to check his profile for others like James Bond and Back to the Future.
-GoNintendo has posted some of the first details about Raving Rabbids TV Party. Looks like it will be new games with a TV spoof theme.
-A Russian news report shows REAL pirates using the Red Haired Pirates mark from One Piece.
-Pretty nifty thing here for gaming alcoholics. Some Danish University students got together to make a Final Fantasy Drink night. They offer several FF themed recipes. They also have Mario themed recipes.
-Found a new webcomic over the weekend called Castle Vidcons. It's a satire of the gaming industry using personified game consoles/controllers in a Medieval setting. Granted sometimes the humor can be kind of dry, and the art is kind of vague (you'll be doing a lot of, "So what is that supposed to be?") but it's still worth checking out if you have the time.
-Speaking of finding sites, I know funny captions and LOLcats have been around forever (oh gee nice to see this one after seeing Indiana Jones), but I recently found another site dedicated to gaming captions of the same ilk. I was laughing sao hard after seeing this one:

Or perhaps these:

Don't worry they have more than just Smash there, but if you want a nice "quiet" laugh check some of those out.

DeviantArt Saturday: Dead Bones Brook
This week on DAS I've decided to go over one of my latest favorite One Piece characters. Brook. With it comes a challenge. How can I show off Brook and spoil as little as possible, since he's from the latest episodes? Well I think I can do a good job, if you're REALLY weary of spoilers stay away, but if you're behind or not very into One Piece, just look at this as a small teaser.

Brook, probably one of the best conceived skeleton characters since Jack Skellington. And Brook is all that and THEN some. He sings, makes jokes, and uses some fancy swordsmanship. It should be known that Tim Burton is one of OP creator Eiichiro Oda's favorite directors, and The Nightmare Before Christmas is one of his favorite movies. I could be wrong, but it's pretty obvious that the Thriller Bark saga is an homage to that love and admiration. And in the center of that is Brook. Let's get started.
Brook in the Night by ~Gandaresh
Excellent, moody picture. Watercolor? Airbrush? Can't quite tell, but it looks phenominal.
Gentleman Brook by =SirCrocodile
Again, a lean towards realism. Only drawback is his humorous personality isn't portrayed very well. This looks more like Airbrush, right? Man if there ARE artists looking at this, I apologize for sounding like such an idiot.
The Grim Adventures of Brook by =Pirate-Cashoo
And now the first "crossover". Could you just imagine, it's somehow, strangely fitting.
Let Me See Your Panties by ~theflamingalberto
Now I know Cosplay isn't art per se, but it does exist on DeviantArt, so I find it still counts. This guy is AWESOME. Great costume (be sure to check out his Gallery) I would have so much fun dressing up and parading as Brook. If I ever hung out with Horror Movie actors like I did a few years back, I'd beg them to let me dress up as Brook for their haunted house productions. Man I'd have such a blast!
Brook: Merry X-mas by SugarRush94
Now here's a more humorous picture. Simply drawn, and yet true and accurate. Brook has a panties fetish, so naturally, that's the number one thing on his Christmas list. The thing I like about Brook, is he's a Gentleman like Sanji, but UNLIKE Sanji, he doesn't go completely gaga or loses his sense. He simply has to as the important question, "May you please show me your panties?"
Brook and Jack by Goldman-Karee
I really have to recommend something from Karee's gallery, she's a Dragonball, One Piece AND POTC fangirl, so she has lots of neat little crossovers, and just good art in general. It's kinda a silly joke. But I'm, a dork and into those sorta things.

Final Verdict: Well doing a search is dangerous spoiler territory. But like I said, I thought I'd do something different. And at least there isn't anything over the top weird, just spoiler-rific. I'll leave some related bonus material for the weak showing this week. Some great fanart which doubles as Wallpaper.

These pictures can be found here and here respectively. Hope I can find something more interesting for ya next week, I just had a strong desire to do Brook, so sue me.

Nico Robin meets Nico Video
-Wow, I can't believe I found something like this! It's a 10 Minute long One Piece tribute song. It's sung by a fan, but she tweaks her voice just right to sound like a dead ringer to Yuriko Yamaguchi (Nico Robin). And it's totally AWESOME! WARNING SPOILERS FOR EPISODES 1-320 AHOY!
-New screens from the set of the Dragonball movie here.
-Mysterious new Rabbids teaser here. "Invading our TV?" Are they making a TV show, that'd be cool? Or will the new games be spoofs of TV shows maybe? Well anyway, word is Ubisoft is supposed to reveal their cards sometime next week.

RECOMMENDABLE!
-Figure this would be a good time to recommend flash artist Skaijo. She's a huge Yotsuba fan that makes some pretty funny Yotsuba flash animations. Her recent fan work is a series called "Great Moments in Yotsuba Manga" where she takes random panels, has someone read them quite over the top and extravagantly , but yet accurately portrays how wonderfully wacky it is. Also, Metal Gear Yotsuba. I didn't find this funny the first time I watched it, but after reading a lot of the manga, I've enjoyed it quite extensively. The voices have a very South Park-ish sound to them.
-Really stylish Lupin III parody with Metal Gear here.
-Some news from Anime Central. Stuff includes bits from Funimation and Bandai Enterainment. Including a Girl Who Leapt Through Time Collectors Edition (DO WANT), Ghost in the Shell, and Funimation's recent acquisitions.
-New Screens and Art from the new Tatsunoko vs Capcom here. There's a lot of talk on what systems this will be on. We won't really know until what kind of ARCADE board it's on. A couple of recent, forgettable licensed games they did were on the System 256 which would lead to easy PS2 ports. However SF4 is on the Type X2 which is pretty much on the Next Gen end of things. Some people think the graphics aren't quite as impressive or "Next Gen" looking enough for PS3. But if it does, remember the PS3 is Region Free. However, maybe it's just me, but Capcom USA seems to hint that they're willing to try to get over all the licensing hurdles and bring it out over here.

Crossover Megaton!
-A new VS game from Capcom is coming out in Japanese arcades this winter. It's called Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Cross Generation of Heroes. Tatsunoko is the legendary Anime company behind series like G-Force, Speed Racer, and Casshern. It's doubtful, but maybe Capcom can pull some strings and get the game over here despite likely licensing issues. Here's a better clearer scan. Oh and look in the top right corner. That most certainly is the Bonne family symbol (!!!). Oh please Capcom, make it happen!

Grand Overture
-Dragon Quest IV's official US site is up. It's revealed that the game will come out for the DS September 16th in the US! Man, just listen to that epic DQ theme! So amazing!
-Some screens of the new Samurai Spirits/Shodown Anthology for PS2/Wii here. The most interesting feature mentioned is that the voices for SS VI/Tenka have been re-recorded. The original had COMLPETELY different voice actors taking on the roles, some sounded okay, some sounded off the wall weird.
-Superman has just been revealed for Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe.
-So have you checked any of Hyadain's stuff yet? What do you mean, "I don't care about video game music!"? Well try watching this video. It's a new sub of one of Hyadain's songs, Dr. Mario. The thing is the lyrics don't involve Mario at ALL. Not one bit. Nothing about viruses or anything close. But it's a tearjerker of a story involving a little boy and his dog. A MUST watch, and maybe then you'll see just how awesome Hyadain is.
-Speaking of Hyadain, found another musician who likes to play Hyadain's songs with a Violin. I hear his FFIV song and wished we could've gotten something like that on the Celtic Moon album. I have his songs on my account here and here.
-New Angry Video Game Nerd here. There was a bit of a "scare" when his Youtube account disappeared, seemingly banned. But he's back up. Hopefully it was just a misunderstanding.

Save Faris
-Over the Weekend, I actually found a bundle of videos dedicated to Faris Scherwiz from Final Fantasy V on Nico. Including a Haruhi Hare Hare Yukai parody, A Lucky Star opening parody, a fanart slideshow, and even some I haven't uploaded yet like a Faris and Reina Caramelldansen, an FFV Danjo, and an FFV Cast Caramelldansen (not animated very well). Yeah.. I never knew she was so popular either, I'm quite shocked.
-The same fellow who made the Super Mario Western Show (which took Hyadain's song and placed it over new art and animation) has done the same thing with his FFIV song (one of my favorites). It actually has subs now. Watch, laugh, and enjoy.
-Funimation announced a ton of titles last week. Nothing I'm all too familiar with, but they did license Romeo X Juliet by Gonzo Studio. It's worth mentioning the music in RXJ is done by FF Tactics composer Hitoshi Sakimoto. I'll definitely be keeping my eyes on this one!
-Apparently, Gurren Lagann, the hot anime of 2007, is premiering on Sci-Fi July 28th.
-Well for the Calibur fans, SCIV has a new character named Ashlotte designed by Tengo Tenje creator Oh! Great. No really "Oh! Great" is the guy's name.
-And now for the Joss Whedon fans like my sister. New trailer for his latest series, Dollhouse. Speaking of Eliza Dushku, there was a short lived series she was in, Tru Calling which is coming out in a Complete Series DVD set for those who might be interested.

DeviantArt Saturday: Sara Pezzini
My sister bought me lunch today and asked if she could request Sara Pezzini for DAS. I said sure. She's a Witchblade nut and I'm not. But I tried hard anyway.
Well, how about starting with something I'm familiar with, a spot on sketch based off the TV version portayed by Yancy Butler.

Various Works (click individually) by Candra
Thought I'd try something a little different here. I found this person's art to be the best of the bunch, all done by the same person. I feel like the more so than the main body itself, the background detail is quite extraordinary. I mean check the flame lighting in the fourth picture. Marvelous!

Jackie's Argumentations by ~AngelTrent
Knowing my sister, she's probably going to laugh her ass off over this, despite no one else getting the joke. 'Sides, column needed something different.

Sora vs Darkness by *calisto-lynn
I know this strays a bit from the original "Sara Pezzini" theme, but who cares. I found this artwork AWESOME. Nothing like a nice crossover where one hero takes on the villian of the Witchblade series. I especially like the detail on the Keyblades (look at the keychains themselves). The artist says they're supposed to be Excalibur and Witchblade Keyblades. Oh and look closely at the floor in the background, Sara's not left out after all!

Final verdict: Being such a sexually oriented series, doing a search for Witchblade art isn't going to give you much in the lines of Safe-for-work results. Lots of nudity and cleavage. However it's not necessarily a bad thing. I really didn't find anything nasty, fetish wise. I also noticed there isn't too much colored stuff. Lots and lots of just simple B&W sketches.
So there you go, hope you enjoy, Kelsey. And speaking of which, to everyone, I changed the settings so that Anonymous users can comment. Card Games
-Wired has an article and screens about a new FFIV Card Game Exclusive to Japanese S-E Club Members
-Fun fact: In Dragonball Z, Ryusei Nakao, the Japanese voice of Freeza/Frieza was the voice of Yakko on Animaniacs. Someone on Nico took the Japanese version of the Nations of the World song and dubbed it to scenes of Frieza. It's actually pretty funny.
-Hyadain is back with a Quick Man remix. Really awesome, just needs some English subs.
-It was just revealed today that the mysterious new Square-Enix title Sigma Harmonics for the DS has been trademarked and patented for America. Even though it's really late, check out some previous news and info here and the official site with music here.

Iron Rabbid

Starting the day off with a teaser image Ubisoft has released. No new info or an official game announcement yet. Just an image.
-Courtesy of Penny Arcade, check out this freakishly awesome Stop Motion Animation.
-Capcom has revealed the fan-chosen new characters/costumes for Wii Love Golf. They're Ken and Morrigan. Kinda freaky that some Tiger Woods/Barack Obama looking guy dressed as Ken. I was hoping for Dan and Roll :(
-This is going to go down in Nintendo History: LOOK AT THE FOOTAGE!
-I added a couple of my own One Piece dub clips to my YT channel. From Episode 4, one of my favorite episodes in the entire series.

2D Will never Die!
-Well the story from SNK I posted yesterday got a little updated by Destructoid. Unlike Kotaku's report. Both Destructoid and trustworthy SNK-Capcom.com Founder and Insider Trieu clarified that Ben Herman is NOT 60 years old, and that he won't joining the SNK move, but is simply finding work elsewhere (not retiring). Other than that what got me in SNK's supposed statement from Japan, "We want to show that SNK is sticking to making 2D fighters and is the world leader in 2D fighters." I love you guys!
-New Zero Punctuation is out. This one covers GTA4. Good ol' Yahtzee.
-New Angry Video Game Nerd is out. Covers some of the obscure NES accessories. Although I have to say, I NEVER had that much trouble with the Zapper that he's talking about. 0_o
-A new character revealed for SoulCalibur 4's Crossover Cameo fest. Her name is Shura and she's designed by the creator of the Manga/Anime Gantz. And because I'm lazy, C=P'd from ANN:
Shura will join the rapier-wielding Scheherazade (pictured below) from fellow manga/anime creator Yutaka Izubuchi (Lodoss, RahXephon), the Lucifer Spear bearer Angol Fear from Mine Yoshizaki (Sgt. Frog, Arcade Gamer Fubuki), and Darth Vader and Yoda from the American Star Wars films.
It was kinda cool, lurking around NeoGaf seeing them pining for Zoro or a character designed by Oda. I imagien someone from Bleach or someone designed by Kubo Tite is more likely. I mean Crazy weapons and big breasts? He's got the Soulcalibur pedigree NAILED.

The Foray into Nico Video
Sorry for the delay, I spent most of the weekend finally taking the plunge into Nico Video. For those who don't know, it's basically Youtube's Japanese rival. Full of crazy videos, a lot of people find ways of copying them to Youtube or even the users themselves post their videos on both sites. So anyway, I followed this guide for registering (as it's all in Japanese) and began looking up game videos. I mostly wanted to find interesting MADs and Caramelldansen videos that might not have appeared on YT yet. I found several of the latter, namely ones from FFIV and VI. I've managed to find a way to rip them from Nico video and convert them to hi-res WMVs/AVIs. Here's Shanks Caramelldansen, Zelda 64 (cleaned up with new audio by me), Terra and Celes, and Final Fantasy IV. Don't worry I'll be putting my Hi-Res files on something like Megaupload so you can download them. And I have more on the way :)
-Found this quite randomly when I happened to look up some old SMB: SS info and videos. A forgotten live action Mario show, unrelated but similar to the classic Lou Albano segments. You can read about it here.
-Hilarious Megaman meets Metal Gear parody here.
-I haven't seen it, but some people might like to know that Funimation has just licensed the Anime "Kenichi: The Mightest Disciple"
-Somewhat old news, but Justice League Season 1 is being released for Blu-Ray. For those like me who already have the DVD set, TVShowsonDVD confirmed that there's nothing EXTRA on it. The only upside to it will be "correcting" the 4:3 Aspect Ratio and making it Widescreen like later releases. You can see the back of the boxart looking identical to the DVD package.
-Hyadain is back with a steamy Crash Man (MM2) remix. Check the video response for an alternate fanmade animation with English subbed lyrics. Probably Hyadain's most off the wall song yet (lyric wise).
-Well Wiiware finally came out on Monday. I'm still too busy playing Smash and Ratchet and Clank as well as conserving money for my New Zealand trip. But it seems Defend your Castle and Lost Winds are definitely getting the most praise. So if you're wondering what games to get, try these.
-Destructive posted a rumor that SNK USA was closing down. Boo! But as Kotaku reports straight from SNK Japan, they're just moving the LA. They're closer to new partner Ignition as well as obviously being closer to their Japan Offices. Phew! BTW, LA is where SNK's offices used to be before their bankruptcy in 2001. It just seems like they're one small step closer to being the company they used to be and then some.

DeviantArt Saturday: Rosalina
So I've decided to have something special for Saturdays. DeviantArt Saturday is where I choose an awesome character whether it's Anime, video games, or TV, and feature a fanart spotlight on them. DeviantArt can be a great place for some cool fanart. Problem is, it's generally overrun with both "meh" material and fetish drawings that can scar you for life. So I take it upon myself to protect you, my valued readers, to brave through the image search and pull out the best of the bunch.

This week and for my first, I'll be doing Rosalina from Super Mario Galaxy.
I really have to admire the character because even though design wise, she's pretty boring (I honestly thought she was going to be Peach's long lost twin sister) she has a personality that makes up for it. I'm NOT a big fan of Peach because of her boring air-headedness, but I AM a fan of serene and mature female characters and Rosalina fits the bill nicely. She's like a perfect cross between Peach and Zelda. It's really nice to have a worthy character sharing the spotlight with dorky Peach for a change. Definitely a step forward for the Mario Universe.
And now on to the fanart. Remember, I'm not exactly an art critic, so try not to take my comments too seriously. ^^;;

Emo's Don't Smile by Blackbirdo
(Paper) Rosalina by Menkalinan
Well it's a no-brainer to end this with some classy fanservice. In fact checking out the rest of Sigurd's stuff has a plethora of sexy artwork featuring Nintendo gals that's actually quite tasteful. Check it out if you're so inclined, pervert.
Final Verdict: There's actually some good artwork out there, and it's pretty "safe" too. The closest I found to fetish artwork was a closeup of her feet. That's it though. At least as of this post, I'm sure there'll be more down the line.
So, how was that? Want to request a character for next week, let me know! Either in comments or contacting me. Also, if there was some cool artwork of Rosalina you want to spotlight let me know too. There's a lot of good stuff out there, I probably just didn't have the time to post about it here.

Little Rosalina by GreenMageIf you were the slightest bit hardcore, you'd know that Mario Galaxy is indeed a nod to the famous Children's Novel "The Little Prince". Even the Storybook scenes are based off the artwork. So leave it up to one CLEVER artist to recognize it and make it into a piece of artwork. The coloring is soft and true to the both the original book and SMG.
Little Rosalina by esme449Another "Little Rosalina" but not the same reference. One cool thing about Rosalina, making her better than Peach, is that we get to see her as a sweet, innocent child full of wonder about the Universe. Closest thing we get to a Young Peach is Baby Peach, and that's something that's getting real old FAST.
Emo's Don't Smile by BlackbirdoI found this picture so hilarious when I found it. It's simple, I know, but sometimes you don't have to be a great artist to illustrate a funny idea. Yeah there's a few people I've seen joke about Rosalina being emo because of her "hair over the eye" bit. Yeah right. But yeah, she grins, but doesn't fully smile, still a funny picture though.
(Paper) Rosalina by MenkalinanSo, Rosalina in Paper Mario would be GREAT, and this image is such a realistic tease, let's hope Intelligent System lets Peach take a break and let Rosalina in as a playable/important character.

I got nothing....almost.
-Nothing much to add for tonight. How about just some good Phoenix Wrong and some freakin' adorable CG dancing (they look little chibi dolls come to life). And if you're reading this wondering, "Who the hell is that girl with the Sailor Moon-long blue pigtails?" She's Hatsune Miku, a mascot for some Vocal software that's become INSANELY popular with Japanese internet culture.
Don't worry tomorrow's update will be worth it, I promise ^.^

Last Minute
Nothing much today, I always try to start the post of news just before Midnight so that I technically don't "miss" the day. HAHA!
-Aparently a website called "Kombo" has posted leaked concept art of the "Most definitely unofficially confirmed" Kid Icarus for Wii that IGN says we'll be seeing at this year's E3. It's been said that Factor 5 (Lair, Rogue Squadron) will be handling the game and have pitched scenarios such as Pit being a fallen angel. My take? It looks like Nintendo's answer to God of War, which I don't think is a good idea. Pit's popularity skyrocketed from being in Brawl, they should really stick to that (some of the artwork DOES look like they are, with maybe adding a "Twilight Princess Edge").
-Really have to mention Piclens. An extension for Firefox (it also works for Internet Explorer in case you're on a computer that's poorly deprived) If you do a lot of Image searching/viewing this is a GREAT tool. Not only does it make things much easier and manage for image searches, but it looks slick and REALLY COOL. I love stuff that makes it look like you're using some highly advanced technology. The recent version adds Youtube support so if you have a ton of favorites and/or videos like I do it makes it really easy to browse and view different videos whether they're on top on the first page, or tucked way back on the second to last page. If you're on a page with Image/Video search results just click on the Pic Lens icon on the top right.

X Marks The News
-There's some new mega-crossover RPG coming out for PS3 called "X Edge" (Cross Edge) and it's a collaboration of Capcom, Nippon Ichi, Idea Factory, and Gust characters. Neat idea, I'm just not too familiar with the obscure JRPGs involved ^^;;.
-The recent Famitsu also revealed a new Haruhi Dance game. Looks like YOU TOO can master Hare Hare Yukai with ease.
-The latest Zero Punctuation is out. This time good ol' Yahtzee takes on the massive fanboy backlash he got when reviewing SSB: Brawl. I have to say I felt disappointed with his Brawl review, I dunno, I didn't hate him for not liking it, he just seemed a little off to me, or maybe that IS just bias since I love the game. In any case, this rant on Nintendo fanboys IS hilarious.
-A long ways back there was news of a Reboot revival with a series of movies, and fans being able to pitch story ideas. This news broke a good year ago at last year's Comic Con I believe. Well, it looks like a pitch has finally been decided. And now there's an official website with a timer counting down. 22 days left as of this post.

Dull Goldenweek
-Still nothing major this week. I've heard it being the Goldenweek holiday in Japan is partially responsible. There was a special Playstation Day conference in Europe with a couple minor announcements. Nothing major though.
-Well, for those who are wanting to keep an eye on the upcoming Chun-Li movie, the official Movie blog has unveiled Maya Sunee, a new original character made for the movie. No word yet if she's a rival, friend, or enemy of Chun-Li. Just that's she's a "No nonsense half-Thai cop with Gold Handcuffs" or something. She's played by an actress named Moon Bloodgood (...?)
-Speaking of Chun-li (barely). James Rolfe aka "The Angry Video Game Nerd" posted a really great Top 10 Video on Jackie Chan's Best Fight Scenes. Extra props for putting the Street Fighter parody scene on the list.
-Siliconera has contacted SNK USA and confirmed Samurai Shodown V Special (one of the more violent entries that caused quite a stir in Japan) will be US exclusive. An extra note is that the Wii version will be getting extra minigames for the collection while the PS2 version will be getting Japan exclusive online play. Hmmm.
-Well, a beta fantranslation for the PS2 strategy crossover Namco X Capcom has been officially released. You can burn a copy for your Modded PS2 or if you have a powerful enough PC you might be able to play it emulated. Here's a video of the beginning of the game showing off their English work.

Giving it up to the fans
Not much news to start the week with, so how bout some fan stuff...
-More One Piece S1V1 clips here if you're curious how characters like Alvida, Koby, Kuro, Jango, etc came out voice wise. I'm really impressed with Colleen's Luffy in this scene (namely @1:25), it sounds silly but the light dabs of cursing adds a lot and feels so refreshingly natural. It's not over the top either. Oh have to flashily mention Mike McFarland's flashy great Buggy: My balls!
-I can't believe I never heard of this series before. Zelda: Unknown Origins is a fan made flash series about a new incarnation of Link far in the future who suddenly has visions of his past games. It's brilliantly conceived, with smooth hand drawn animation telling an engaging story with good (amateur) voice acting supporting it. I saw Part 6 listed on Newgrounds earlier today and decided to check out the previous few parts first. I definitely regret not finding this sooner. A MUST WATCH for sure!
-Speaking of Zelda Fan Flash stories. 4 Swords Misadventures Part 5 just came out. Unlike above, this series is a worthwhile comedy using sprites. See the earlier parts if you're not familiar with this series.
-It looks like old school game remix musician Hyadain is starting to gain steam and recognition around the 'net. He just came out with a new song based off Street Fighter II: The World Warrior that's getting a lot of buzz. Also, there's a new version of his Super Mario World song. *This* version has translated lyrics with a slideshow of strange but "matching" artwork. After hearing his FFIV song's translated lyrics, I'm totally hooked on this guy's work. Now I just hope someone can have a channel dedicated to subbed and translated versions.
-It's been kinda confusing, even to me, so let me try to clarify things here. There are TWO fanmade Metroid games coming out. One is Project AM2R, which is a complete, upgraded remake of Metroid 2 for the Gameboy. The graphics look based off Metroid Zero Mission. Metroid: SR388 is a completely ORIGINAL game with mechanics and graphics based off Super Metroid, not to mentioning having AWEINSPIRING polish. Don't get me wrong I want to try both, but SR388 looks like a far worthier endeavor.
-And finally, speaking of fan-made remakes. You may remember Chrono Resurrection. The promising remake the Square so hastily shut down, much to the chagrin and anger of numerous Chrono fans. Well, a short while back someone posted a playthrough video of a secret, closed beta when it was in development. Worth seeing, just for what could've been (I personally would've loved if it looked like DQ8 a little more, other than that though: WHY SQUARE WHYYYY!!)

-Figured I should mention this guy here. This awesome Japanese fellow takes old NES and SNES songs and makes some pretty grand, elaborate remixes. Now this is hardly common (IE Overclocked Remix), but these are VOCAL remixes. Check out his FFIV, Mario World, or Flash Man remixes. Expect me to report the latest coming from this guy in the future.
-Found an article on Lifehacker about secrets to shopping on Amazon. Things like secret deals using DealLocker (Really great for finding DVD Bargains), earning money through refunds, or having household supplies sent to you automatically in set intervals. Quite an enlightening read!
-The ESRB apparently has rated Earthbound for Virtual Console. Now this isn't a sure fire thing as other games have made the list only to be removed (Mario RPG and Kirby Superstar where are youuuu). Still better hope than nothing. I'm hoping to finally play the game myself.
-In case you haven't heard, Funimation's One Piece S1V1 DVD was released early. I got my copy today and finished watching the first disc and let me just say how AWESOME it is. As good as watching the new dub on TV and playing Unlimited Adventure, the new DVDs really raise the bar above those in script and performances. Vic Mignogna's We Are sounds great (and I'm not a huge fan of the original). And various scenes came out out great. Oh and for those watching the dub in the US, who might've not known, two new episodes aired in Australia and New Zealand. You can see the new opening and ending (speaking of Vic earlier, singing the latter).

Grand Opening
So let's get this party started!
-This guy here (scroll down), has made a pretty nifty superhero generator based off Bruce Timm's (and the DCAU) artstyle. It's in Spanish, and it's a bit daunting to use at first, but after a while, it gets easy to figure out what does what. Check out my freaky band of One Piece Superheroes.
-A mysterious teaser for the third Rabbids game is up at Gametrailers.
-Found a really stylish Haruhi AMV done to Avril Lavigne's "I want to be your Girlfriend" here (don't worry, only good and worthwhile AMVs are posted here).
-Youtube user TheSwitcher is at it again, this time showcasing the unintentionally funny Rambo and the Force of Freedom cartoon series.
-Looking for a new, funny webcomic to read? Try Loli Loves Venom. It's like a demented Calvin and Hobbes meets Lilo and Stitch, but with Marvel references.
